Kristaps Porzingis has gone rogue before regarding his health, and is doing so in his offseason rehab of his ACL injury that he suffered in February.

In his efforts to get back to Madison Square Garden as soon as he's able, Porzingis has been working on getting healthy while in Spain and with staff independent of the New York Knicks.

However, Knicks Brass don’t seem worried, as general manager Scott Perry said “We’re looking forward to monitoring him throughout the summer.”

New Knicks coach David Fizdale has said that he will visit Porzingis in Latvia after this week’s draft combine so he can meet him and his family.

But for now, Porzingis is at Real Madrid’s training facility alongside Manolo Valdivieso, who is his longtime physio, dating back to his days when he played for Seville.

Immediately following his surgery in February, Porzingis also opted to work with Dr. Carlon Colker — Shaquille O’Neal’s guy — instead of Knicks staff. And Colker has been very optimistic about the progress Porzingis has made.

“His aggressive rehab is at a jaw-dropping rate. In conjunction, his body is already looking beastly. By September, he’ll be almost non-recognizable with his shirt off. We’re working on increasing his lean muscle mass and also training for a functionality and ruggedness to compliment his game.’’

Porzingis’ rehab is being chronicled in an online documentary series, so you be the judge on whether or not the way he's choosing to rehab is being overblown.
