LISTEN: Thursday's Loss To Red Sox 'Awful' And 'Bad Baseball'

Sweeny Murti On Yankees Troubles

August 03, 2018 - 12:14 pm

It’s been a rough couple of games for the Yankees.

“I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw the Yankees play back-to-back games this badly,” Sweeny Murti said Friday on WFAN.

Referencing Wednesday’s 7-5 loss to the Orioles, which was made worse by the fact that Sonny Gray was subsequently stripped of his starting job, and Thursday’s 15-7 lopsided loss to the Red Sox, Murti described the past 18 innings as “awful” and “bad baseball.”

Hesitant to call it a crisis, Murti cautioned that this is a time in the season that will reveal the Yankees’ character.

“When you lose a few in a row, or you fall behind the Red Sox, that’s when things get tough and we’ll see how Boone, his staff and his players are able to respond here.”

They’ll have a chance to right the ship Friday night as Luis Severino takes the mound for the pinstripes.
