There are very few Yankees fans...and baseball fans that had any clue who Gio Urshela was before April. A month later, you can't miss him.

Urshela has been a huge reason for the Yankees quick turnaround despite all the injuries. The Yankees infielder joined WFAN's Mike Francesa on Wednesday to talk about his time so far in the Bronx and his early success.

"I've been playing for pretty good teams," Urshela said on WFAN. "This is really fun here. I played last year with the 22 games winning straight. That was fun too and been here with fantastic teammates, it's very fun."

While Urshela has been incredible at the plate, hitting .360 with two homers and nine RBI, he truly has shined in the field, making tremendous defensive plays almost on a nightly bases. Was there a third baseman he modeled himself after?

"I always watched A-Rod," said the 27-year-old. "I always like the way he plays. It was very fun to watch him when I was a kid."

Urshela has learned quickly just how passionate Yankees fans are.

"They love this game. They really focus on every game. I'm happy for being here."
