Yankees Trade Torreyes To Cubs

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Two days after designating Ronald Torreyes for assignment, the Yankees have traded the utilityman man to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for a player to be named later or cash consideration.

Torreyes hit .280 with seven doubles and seven RBIs in 100 at-bats for the Yankees in 2018, appearing in 41 games while playing second base, third base and shortstop.

The 26-year-old infielder has a .281/.310/.375 slash line in 229 career MLB games, 221 of which came with the Yankees.

Torreyes was known for being both a fan and clubhouse favorite.
