A lot has already been said about the likely trade between the Mets and Mariners that would bring Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz to Queens.

The deal is not yet complete, but all signs point toward an agreement being reached at some point over the next few days.

Fourteen-time MLB All-Star Alex Rodriguez knows Cano very well, as the two infielders spent nine seasons together as members of the Yankees from 2005-2013.

Rodriguez joined "Mike's On" Friday to discuss the Mets' expected acquisition of Cano, and was very complimentary towards the Mets on the deal.

"It's a huge win for the Mets," Rodriguez told Mike Francesa Friday. "It's a huge huge win... A guy like Robinson Cano can put the barrel on the ball. He's Rod Carew with power. He plays everyday. He's built like a bull. He came back after his suspension and played really well.

"A lot of people don't know that Robbie went to high school in New Jersey. So he is in love with New York City. He was saddened to go to Seattle, and I think this is a big win for Fred and Jeff Wilpon."

Rodriguez and Francesa went on to discuss the Yankees, Gary Sanchez and much more.
