Report: Mets 'Seriously Considering' Offers For Syndergaard

It has been a few weeks since Brodie Van Wagenen joined the Mets, and the agent-turned-general manager has yet to make his first splash with the team.

Well it appears as if his first big move could be coming sooner rather than later.

The Mets are "seriously considering" trade offers for Noah Syndergaard, with at least six teams interested in the 26-year-old right-hander, according to WFAN baseball insider Jon Heyman.

Syndergaard went 13-4 with a 3.03 ERA and 1.212 WHIP in 25 starts this past season, racking up 155 strikeouts in 154.1 innings. Despite missing over a month of action, the hard-throwing righty still accumulated a 4.2 WAR on the year, according to

The 26-year-old is projected to make around $6 million in arbitration next season, and is under team control for an additional two years.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that the Mets were exploring potential free agent starting pitchers in case they decided to deal Syndergaard, according to Andy Martino of SNY.

Talks are expected to heat up during the Winter Meetings in Las Vegas next month.
