Rangers Acquire Ryan Strome In Trade For Ryan Spooner

The Rangers have acquired Ryan Strome from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Ryan Spooner, the team announced Friday afternoon.

Strome has one goal and one assist in 18 games this season. 

Throughout his six-year career with the Oilers and New York Islanders, Strome has racked up 59 goals and 103 assists in 358 games.

The Islanders selected Strome with the fifth overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Spooner has registered one goal and one assist in 16 games for New York this season.

The 26-year-old has played 36 games over parts of two seasons with the Rangers, picking up five goals and 13 assists.

Spooner was acquired by the Rangers in a trade with the Bruins on February 25, 2018.
