Odell Beckham Jr. Expected To Report On Time For Giants Training Camp

There will be no holdout.

Odell Beckham Jr. will report on time for Giants training camp Wednesday, Kimberly Jones of WFAN and NFL Network reported Monday.

"He wants to play football, he wants to win," a source close to Beckham told Jones.

There had been speculation for months that the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver might hold out while seeking a new contract. Beckham is set to earn $8.5 million in the final year of his rookie contract.

Beckham, 25, told reporters in June that he wouldn't hold out, and it appears he hasn't changed his mind.

Beckham, who is reportedly seeking a contract that would make him the NFL's highest-paid wide receiver, has had a tumultuous offseason. In March, a viral video surfaced showing him holding what appeared to be a brown cigarette while he was in bed with an aspiring French model near a plate containing lines of a white substance. Beckham was also named in a $15 million lawsuit filed by a man claiming he was brutally beaten by the Giant's hired bodyguard and another man.

Shortly after, Giants co-owner Mara said he had grown tired of answering questions about Beckham's behavior. That led to new general manager Dave Gettleman sending mixed signals publicly about whether Beckham would be back on the team this season.

But the trade talk later died out, and Beckham was a regular participant in the Giants' voluntary offseason program. He also has built a good rapport with new coach Pat Shurmur, Jones reported.

Beckham is coming off a season cut short in Week 5 by a broken ankle that required surgery. Through his first four seasons, he has amassed 313 receptions for 4,424 yards with 38 touchdowns.
