The scouting combine is over, and the initial free agency frenzy has passed. Draft boards are always in flux, but they’re a bit clearer now than they were a few weeks ago.

With the NFL draft set to begin in a month, we surveyed three dozen recent mock drafts to see what they are saying about which prospect the Jets might draft in the first round. The Jets own the 11th overall pick, although there is always a chance they could trade up or down.

Here are the four players who were the most popular picks for Gang Green, along with some excerpts from those mock drafts.

“It’s been a decade since the Jets used a first- or second-round pick on an offensive lineman (Vlad Ducasse, 61st pick in 2010),” writes Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Hanson. “The Jets ranked near the bottom of Football Outsiders offensive line rankings in both run blocking (31st) and pass blocking (30th) in 2019. The team could use upgrades at both tackle spots even though they agreed to a three-year deal with free-agent George Fant. Thomas was a three-year starter at Georgia with experience on both the left and right side.”

“New York has invested in its offensive line through free agency, but not enough,” writes CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards. “The Jets still have some concerns and, until those are filled, offensive tackle remains a need for them.”

“The Jets could definitely still go offensive line here, but I think their free agency plan is setting them up to give Sam Darnold some weaponry, especially considering the likely departure of Robby Anderson,” writes CBS’ Will Brinson

“There’s a DeAndre Hopkins vibe to Lamb,” writes NJ.com’s Joe Giglio. “Sam Darnold is finally set up to succeed in Year 3.”

“If (general manager) Joe Douglas likes athletic tackles (see: George Fant), how would he dare pass up this 6-7, 368-pound gift for Sam Darnold and Le’Veon Bell?” writes the New York Post’s Steve Serby.
