The world is still in mourning follow the stunning and tragic death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who was killed Sunday afternoon in a helicopter crash along with his 13-year old daughter Gigi and seven other victims.

Listen to your team news NOW.

ESPN anchor Elle Duncan, like many others sharing personal antecdotes with Bryant after his passing, told a story when she met Bryant at an ESPN event in New York City back in 2017.

Duncan was eight months pregnant with her daughter when Bryant saw her and started asking her about her pregnancy. It led to this amazing quote from Bryant, who had three children with his wife Vanessa.

"Girls are the best... I would have 5 more girls if I could. I'm a girl dad."

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has a young daughter, Jada Clare Barkley, with his girlfriend Anna Congdon.

In an emotional video posted by the NFL, Barkley discussed the influence Kobe had on him and his connection with his own daughter, Jada. He's proud to be a "girl dad", just like Bryant.

"She's my everything," Barkley said. "She's my world ... that one special person to me is my daughter."

In 13 games for the Giants in 2019, he rushed for 1,003 yards and finished with eight total touchdowns in his second season (six rushing, two receiving).

These videos have a very simple message overall. Take nothing for granted. Give your family members and loved ones an extra big hug this week and let them know how much you care about them.
