EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (WFAN) -- Odell Beckham Jr. was limited in Giants practice Wednesday, but his ailing quad is improving, coach Pat Shurmur said.

The star wide receiver stretched and participated in some individual drills but sat out the team portion. He was officially listed as a limited participant.

Beckham was a surprise scratch a day before Sunday's 40-16 win over the Washington Redskins. He says he suffered the quad injury Nov. 25 against the Eagles and played through it against the Bears the following week.

"I think he's getting better each day," Shurmur said. "Again, we'll know more as the week goes on. And I encourage our players not to talk about their injuries, so hopefully that's about all you get out of it."

Shurmur might have been taking a shot at Beckam for revealing the injury last week in his web docuseries "I Am More: OBJ."

In 12 games this season, Beckham has 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.
