NYC Subway Twitter Account Weighs In On Brandon Nimmo's Struggles

Brandon Nimmo has struggled heavily at the plate for the Mets this season, but it seems he still has one notable fan.

The New York City subway is, to say the least, not always the cleanest place in the world. One rider on Thursday took to Twitter to complain about a bit of human waste that was left on a seat on the No. 7 train.

Another user, a Mets fan, jumped in with a joke about that waste actually being Nimmo. New York City Transit's official Twitter account then weighed in, not disputing that Nimmo has been lousy so far this season but expressing some profanity-laced optimism moving forward.

Nimmo was placed on the injured list Wednesday with a stiff neck, but maybe being supported by public transportation on social media can boost his spirits a bit.

When he was healthy, Nimmo was only batting .200 with three home runs and 14 RBIs in 130 at bats. Rajai Davis was called up from Triple-A to replace him on the active roster. Davis then homered for the Mets in a 6-1 win over the Nationals.

Hopefully that subway car gets cleaned up, and hopefully Nimmo gets back to health soon.
