Kyle Van Noy seems to be a big fan of Joe Judge.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Judge was hired by the Giants in January to take over after Pat Shurmur was fired following a disappointing 4-12 season. Van Noy has been with the Patriots since 2016, but he is now a free agent, and could find himself playing elsewhere in 2020.

Van Noy was on The Pat McAfee Show recently, where the linebacker praised Judge and made a peculiar comment about the team that could be taken as a bit of foreshadowing.

“He's a ball of energy,” said Van Noy. “If he can take his energy he has and consistently, each and every day, line it up with that positive energy … I think they're going to be really, really good because he's a really good coach … I'm excited for him with the Giants. Go Giants, right?”

Does Van Noy know something we don’t? Coaches love to bring players from old gigs to their new jobs, and Van Noy could be available. The BYU alum was part of a touted Patriots defense last year that ultimately fell short in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Despite the early exit this postseason, Van Noy has done quite a bit of winning in New England. He’s been a part of two Patriots championship teams.

Judge served as the special teams coach and as the wide receiver coach under Belichick, but it's not surprising that Van Noy has good things to say about him. Judge was one of the biggest voices in the Pats locker room and was one of Belichick's top lieutenants.

In 2019, Van Noy forced 3 fumbles and had a career high of 6.5 sacks. At 28-years-old he isn’t too old, but he could still add a veteran presence to a Giants defense that was sorely missing that last season, if they do decide to pursue him.

Time will tell if there is something serious between Van Noy and the Giants, or if he ends up signing elsewhere.
