Jamal Adams is getting some personal recognition during what has been a tough season for his team.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The Jets are 5-9 and won’t be going to the playoffs, which has frustrated fans and players alike, including Adams. It’s been a challenging season for the whole squad, but Adams has still made plays on defense to the best of his ability.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Adams has been selected to his second straight Pro Bowl.

Adams tweeted in 2017 that he “won’t miss another Pro Bowl” after he hadn’t been voted into the game in his rookie season. He was chosen last year, and now he’s made it two seasons of selection in a row.

The star safety is the Jets’ only representative on the Pro Bowl roster this year. The Ravens set a new record with 12 players named to the squad. Meanwhile, no one on the Giants made the cut initially. Saquon Barkley and Riley Dixon are alternates.

It has been a season to forget for both the Jets and the Giants. Adam Gase’s team is 5-9, while Pat Shurmur’s team is 3-11. Barkley might have been a Pro Bowler, but he dealt with injuries this year and wasn't always at his best when he was healthy.

Adams still found ways to impress on a bad team. In 12 games this season, he has managed six and a half sacks, one forced fumble, one interception and 64 total tackles. The interception hauled in by the 24-year-old was taken to the house for six points.

There were questions about Adams' future with the Jets when the team began the year so poorly. Adams was honest about the pain he felt when he heard reports that he was being shopped prior to the trade deadline. Those issues were eventually smoothed over in a meeting, and Adams has since said he wants to be with the Jets long term.

Things could change depending on injuries. Adams hasn’t played since Week 13, so it’s unclear if he will view himself as healthy enough to take part in this year’s edition of the game in Orlando, Florida.
