By now you've probably heard the story: New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell was reportedly spotted bowling until 1 a.m. the night before the team's game versus the Miami Dolphins when he apparently was sick with the flu.

Listen to your team news NOW.

He might've missed their thrilling 22-21 victory over the Dolphins, but Bell did have his own version of Michael Jordan's "Flu Game", bowling a career-high 251 Saturday night despite being under the weather.

He went on to describe how he was told by doctors he could leave the house and wanted to go out with friends and family.

Bell signed a four-year, $52.5 million contract with $27 million guaranteed. He has just 589 rushing yards through 12 games while averaging a career-low 3.2 yards per carry.

Earlier Tuesday. head coach Adam Gase said that he wished Bell hadn't gone out but that the three-time Pro-Bowler didn't violate any team rules.

"That wasn't his fault that we said he was still contagious," Gase said. "That's what the doctors told him. I'd rather him not be. I'd rather him be at home just getting better. But that'll be a conversation we have."

"What am I going to discipline him for? I can't tell him you have to stay in your house."

Bell responded to the potential of any wrongdoing by going bowling, saying: "I don't feel bad about what I did. I didn't break any rules. I wasn't a distraction until now."

The Jets are 5-8 this season after defeating the Dolphins in Bell's absence.
