For those who fall victim to the NFL's mandatory cuts as teams reduce their rosters to 53 players, there's a decent amount of uncertainty involving their future as to where they will end up next. Tight end Eric Tomlinson, who was waived by the Jets on Saturday, isn't leaving MetLife Stadium just yet.

Listen to your team news NOW.

On Sunday, Tomlinson signed a deal with the Giants. Cornerback Sam Beal was subsequently placed on the team's injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Tomlinson spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Jets, starting in 29 games including 12 games last season. He recorded 121 receiving yards in 2017, a career high, before his offensive output took a dive with the arrival of Chris Herndon. Tomlinson had 8 catches for 72 yards in 2018.

With Herndon's four-game suspension, the Jets opted to sign former Texan Ryan Griffin. Daniel Brown, who recently played for the Bears, and West Virginia rookie Trevon Wesco round out the team's tight end depth. Tomlinson was the odd man out on Saturday afternoon. Tomlinson is figured to play behind Evan Engram, Rhett Ellison and Garrett Dickerson with Big Blue.

The Giants, also, continued to fill out their practice squad roster. They are allowed to sign a maximum of ten players to the practice squad.
