Jets quarterback Sam Darnold is reportedly planning to meet with his receivers in Florida this weekend to get in some workouts with some of his new weapons.

But the big question will be whether or not they will be able to replace the production of Robby Anderson, whom Darnold had a strong rapport with before he signed with the Panthers in free agency.

WFAN’s Maggie Gray wondered on Tuesday’s “Moose and Maggie” if the Jets have done enough to help Darnold.

“I think they may regret not having Robby Anderson,” she said. “I like the Breshaud Perriman signing, but to say this is a certainty that he’s going to A) be healthy … and that he’s going to be able to replicate the production he had in the second half of the season with Tampa Bay Bucs is still a question mark. He doesn’t have chemistry with Sam Darnold – at least not the way Robby Anderson had.”

In addition to Perriman, the Jets also drafted Denzel Mims in the second round of the NFL Draft – which many consider to be a steal. But just how much of an immediate impact will he have, especially with valuable time this spring being missed establishing a rapport with Darnold due to coronavirus.

“You have Denzel Mims coming out of Baylor, still a rookie and needs time to adjust to the league,” Gray added. “Jamison Crowder is going to be coming back – and that’s a good one; he’s great in the slot and has chemistry with Darnold. But overall, one of the major storylines for the Jets going into the offseason were more weapons for Sam Darnold and an offensive line. They addressed both, but I don’t know if they addressed both enough?”
