Tensions are high in Florham Park for the New York Jets. The team is 1-6. They've lost two straight games, falling to the rival New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars. If that wasn't bad enough, Pro-Bowl Safety Jamal Adams is not happy he was reportedly considered in trade talks at the 2019 NFL Trade Deadline.

The Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens were included as possible suitors for the Jets defensive anchor.

As Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported, head coach Adam Gase spoke to the media on Thursday and had some high praise for Adams.

“I think he does a lot of things that puts us in a really good position,” Gase said. “I think he is one of the best players we have on our roster. The whole cornerstone and all that stuff… I don’t really know what that means. But I know that we are in really good position with him at his spot. I feel like we have one of the upper-tier players at that position.”

He went on.

“I like him at his spot,” Gase said. “I like him on our defense. I love him on our defense. I think he does a great job.”

Clearly, Gase is trying to do everything he can to try and get the team as well as Adams to move past this and diffuse the situation, at least until the end of the season.

Adams was a Pro-Bowler in 2018 and named an AP all second-team safety. They drafted him with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Jets take on the winless Miami Dolphins Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
