NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The Yankees are scheduled to meet with free-agent slugger Manny Machado on Wednesday, according to a New York Post report.

The Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies are expected to be in contention for Machado's services. His next contract could approach $300 million.

Machado will meet with the Phillies next week, according to an report.

The 26-year-old shortstop is a four-time All-Star and a two-time Gold Glove winner.

After being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers from the Baltimore Orioles, he batted .273 with 13 homers and 42 RBIs in 267 at-bats.

The Yankees will be looking to improve their infield after Didi Gregorius underwent offseason Tommy John surgery.
