January 06, 2019 - 3:53 pm

After acquiring J.D. Davis from the Houston Astros, the Mets continued a busy Sunday of deals by sending catcher Kevin Plawecki to the Cleveland Indians for right-handed pitcher Walker Lockett and minor-league infielder Sam Haggerty.

"We continue to focus on acquiring young major league-ready talent for 2019 and beyond," Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen said. "Still only 24 years old, Walker provides us valuable depth to our starting rotation."

Plawecki batted .210 with seven home runs and 30 RBI in 79 games for the Mets last season.
