The Giants’ coaching staff and members of the front office met with Dwayne Haskins on Tuesday night, ahead of his pro day.

Haskins described his meeting with the Giants as “a great experience.”

"Had some good talks, we had some good food and it was a great experience,” Haskins told NFL Network when asked about his dinner with Giants’ personnel.

A contingent that included head coach Pat Shurmur, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Mike Shula and director of college scouting Chris Pettit watched Haskins’ throwing sessions on Wednesday. Haskins later chatted with Shurmur and assistant general manager Kevin Abrams.

"I think the biggest thing when you're drafting a quarterback is you want the guy to be there 10, 12, 15 years, that's the guy you want to lead your franchise," Haskins told NFL Network on Wednesday. "So, every meeting that I go to, I want to show them how charismatic I am, how smart I am and to be able to relate to everyone in the room."

There is a strong possibility that the Giants use the no. 6 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to select Haskins. The Giants are looking for a long-term successor to Eli Manning.

Haskins finished his sophomore season at Ohio State with 50 passing touchdowns and eight interceptions, a 70 percent completion percentage and 4,831 passing yards. He set Big Ten single-season records for passing touchdowns and yards thrown.

The 6-foot-3 quarterback finished third in the 2018 Heisman Trophy voting.
