EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (WFAN) -- 2018 has been a tough year for the Giants -- and things got a little worse before the New Year.

On Saturday, the team placed rookie wide receiver Jawill Davis on the injured reserve list with a dislocated patella.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury while dancing in the locker room, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Alonzo Russell will take his place on the 53-man roster.

The injury ends Davis’ season. Recovery from the injury typically takes six weeks.

Davis signed with the Giants after going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. He caught four passes for 40 yards and averaged 7.4 yards on 12 punt returns.

The Giants close out the 2018 season against the rival Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
