The 2018-2019 full New York Knicks schedule has been released as the NBA season is around two months away. With football preseason here now, the basketball preseason is not too far away and will creep up on you. Let's take a look at some of the highlights of this season's schedule.

October 17th vs. Atlanta Hawks - Season/Home Opener

For the first time since 2014, the Knicks will open the season at home. Carmelo Anthony's former team, the Atlanta Hawks come to Madison Square Garden. Of course, Melo was never really a Hawk as they got rid of him after trading for him as he ends up with the Rockets. First off, it is always nice when the team opens the season at home so you can get a first look. Also, it will be intriguing to see Trae Young make his NBA debut on a big stage at MSG as he goes up against Kevin Knox. This will be the battle of two top 10 prized rookies going at it.

October 26th vs. Warriors - Defending champions come to MSG

The Knicks will be tested early as the Western Conference All Stars aka the Warriors come to MSG. We will find out a week into the season whether the Knicks can compete with the defending champions. It will be interesting to see how the Knicks match up with the almighty Warriors without Kristaps Porzingis. We might learn a lot about this Knicks team early into the season.

January 17th @ Wizards - London game

The Knicks are heading across the pond. New Yorkers are everywhere, so it will be cool to see how many show up to this game as they take on the Wizards in London. This comes right before they return home to play the Thunder in a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matinee.

January 23rd vs. Rockets - Melo returns

Carmelo Anthony will be back at MSG after the Knicks play in London and on MLK Jr. Day. That's quite the week on the Knicks schedule. We'll see if Melo is starting or what his role will be on the stacked Rockets team, especially at this point of the season. He should receive a nice ovation from the Knicks faithful.

March 17th vs. Lakers - King James comes to MSG

Buckle up. LeBron James is coming to The Mecca on St. Patrick's Day in a Lakers uniform. Unfortunately, it's a noon start on St. Patrick's Day so there might be 15,000 hungover people in the building, but nonetheless, this should be a good. It could be especially great considering the Knicks may have Porzingis back on the court at this time. Anytime LeBron comes to The Garden, it's special, but now in a Lakers uniform, with their fans all over the globe, this should be a special matinee affair.
