John Sterling's iron-man streak as the voice of the Yankees is about to be snapped.

Stream MLB games now on fuboTV.

Sterling told WFAN's "Benigno and Roberts" on Tuesday that he won't make the trip for the Yankees' four-game series later this week at Tampa Bay. It will end Sterling's 30-year run of calling every Yankees game on the radio.

"Right now actually I'm a little under the weather, but I plan to broadcast the (Subway Series) games at Citi Field (Tuesday and Wednesday) and then I'll take the weekend off and then All-Star break, so I'll have a week to get myself together," Sterling said.

Sterling, who turns 81 on Thursday, said friends of his in the business have encouraged him to take some games off. He will be replaced by Ryan Ruocco for the games against the Rays.

"As far as the streak going, a streak is a streak," Sterling said. "It's just numbers."
