No matter how good either team is each year, tensions tend to rise in the week leading up to Giants-Cowboys games.

New York's head coach Pat Shurmur certainly understands the importance of this week's game, despite being new to the rivalry.

"Dallas week," Shurmur said to open up his media session with reporters after turning the page from the team's Week 1 loss to the Jaguars.

With New York and Dallas kicking off their respective seasons with a loss, emerging from Sunday night's contest with a victory will be crucial for both NFC East clubs.

WFAN's Joe & Evan did a special simulcast with our sister station 105.3 The Fan's Shan & RJ Friday morning to preview this weekend's clash between the Giants and Cowboys. It didn't take long for the Dallas station's hosts to take shots at the Giants' Eli Manning, and whether or not the veteran quarterback truly deserves to one day be enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

"We do this every year with you guys," Shan & RJ said about Manning being overrated. "Hasn't it shown? Can't you at least admit, after the last few years, he's not a Hall of Fame player?

"His Hall of Fame résumé is going to be that he has the worst passer rating of any Hall of Fame quarterback."

"As good as Tony Romo was, he didn't even make it to a conference championship game!" Joe Benigno exclaimed.

"I would rather see Sam Darnold be Eli Manning than be Dan Marino. Give me two championships!" Benigno went on to say.

The Giants will travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium Sunday night.
