The Jets are very thing at cornerback right now after injuries to both Trumaine Johnson and his replacement, Kyron Brown. On Tuesday, they announced that they have signed cornerback Marcus Cooper.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The 29-year-old Cooper was released Monday by the Lions after playing four games for them last season. He's also spent time with the Bears, Cardinals and Chiefs. In 74 games, which he started 28, Cooper has seven interceptions, one touchdown and two forced fumbles.

Johnson, who the Jets gave a big contract to last offseason, is dealing with a hamstring injury. Brown is also dealing with a hamstring injury.

The Jets also announced that they have released tight end Nick Truesdell. He was fighting for playing time with starter Chris Herndon, who is serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
