The Jets have now had two days to recover from their collapse on Sunday.

Listen to your team news NOW.

New York led 16-3 after three quarters of play, but the Bills then scored two touchdowns to own the fourth quarter and win by a point. It was a brutal loss to start what is supposed to be a promising season for Adam Gase and company.

Despite the ugly end to Sunday’s game, Jamal Adams isn’t worried. The 23-year-old team captain joined “Carlin, Maggie and Bart” on Tuesday afternoon and downplayed the loss by insisting the Jets will be totally fine in the long run.

“We’re fine, man. We’ll be fine,” Adams said on WFAN. “We’re not going to change what we’ve been doing up until this point.  Everybody has been working hard. Everybody has been communicating, and we’re playing as one. This team, it’s comradery is very close. Team chemistry is very close. And like I said, we’ll be fine at the end of the day.”

Adams, now in his third season with the team, is continuing to grow as a leader. He also pointed out that the Jets started 1-0 last year before ultimately falling apart.

The New York defense played well for most of the game on Sunday, but the loss of C.J. Mosley to an injury in the third quarter was costly. Mosley had an interception return for a touchdown and had been impressive overall in what was his first game with the Jets.

Adams admitted it was tough to lose Mosley, but he’s still confident in his teammates stepping up for as long as the linebacker is out for.

“It was tough losing him. He’s a beast, obviously. Everybody knows that. It is ‘next man up,’ that’s our philosophy. Everybody gets coached the same. As long as everybody continues to do their job, which we will, and continues to communicate as a defense, we’ll be fine.”

The big (non-game related) news in the NFL this past week was Antonio Brown signing with the Patriots after being released by the Raiders. Adams tried to recruit Brown to the Jets last offseason, and he gave his thoughts on the star wide receiver joining the defending Super Bowl champions.

“Looking forward to it. Anytime you can compete against the best … we’re looking forward to the challenge.”
