Hank Azaria, the star of IFC's hit show Brockmire, stopped by the WFAN studios to chat with Carlin, Maggie & Bart Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-time Emmy Award winner is a native New Yorker, having been born and raised in Queens, and is known for being a New York sports fan.

Azaria is a big Mets supporter, and despite the encouraging start, he isn't letting himself get too excited after watching what occurred with the team last season.

"You guys know, I'm a Mets fan, it's very hard for me to be positive about anything at all," Azaria told CMB Tuesday. "Every year, they invent a new way to have you be pessimistic. Like last year, we started 11-1. So now I know better than to be excited about any start we have at all. That was kind of a new one, to have that horrible of a June after starting off that way."

While Azaria likes some of the depth signings general manager Brodie Van Wagenen made over the offseason, he, similar to Mets fans all across the city, wondered why the team decided not to bolster its pitching staff.

"I don't agree with not spending another $10 or $20 (million) on arms," the actor said. "It just seems so obvious...

"Just a couple more guys. You know, it's easy to say that now. And I certainly did not forsee the Mets' bullpen starting this shaky. But it was very obvious that they needed pitching depth. Why not address it? It drives me crazy."
