Giants Stick With Manning, Won't Suspend Lauletta

Eli To Start Week 10 vs. 49ers

November 06, 2018 - 1:10 pm

The Giants didn't lose last week as they had their bye. They are back at it this week as they take on the 49ers in San Francisco Monday night. They will stick with Eli Manning at QB, despite his struggles and the Giants 1-7 record.

Pat Shurmur also said Tuesday that backup QB Kyle Lauletta would not be suspended following his traffic arrest. He said there are "internal consequences" and that he has spoken to Lauletta numerous times since the event.

Shurmur said he spoke with Manning and emphasized that everyone needs to improve.

Lauletta may have had a chance to start, but the timing of his arrest was awful. The Giants will look to beat the 2-7 49ers Monday night.

The backup QB said the following on his arrest.

"The incident that happened last week is a terrible representation of who I am and what I stand for. Right is right and wrong is wrong. My parents raised me better than that. It’s tough, and I have to take it as a lesson and move forward from it. I have to deal with the consequences, and that’s that."
