Giants running back Saquon Barkley knows how to make up for his mistakes.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Barkley didn't fumble the ball once through his 261 carries as a rookie last year. He didn't fumble on any of his 91 receptions either. On Sunday, Barkley, however, fumbled on the Giants' first offensive play.

He was unable to hang onto Eli Manning's eight-yard pass, fumbling the ball for the first time in his career. Luckily for the Giants and Barkley, fullback Eli Penny jumped atop of the loose ball to maintain the team's possession.

The fumble didn't take away opportunity away from the NFL's reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year. Barkley streaked down the left side of the field for a 59-yard run on the very next play, putting the Giants in Cowboys' territory for a prime position to score.

Manning later found Evan Engram for the one-yard touchdown and put the Giants ahead, 7-0, in the opening quarter.
