Report: Giants Have Received Trade Offers For Landon Collins

October 29, 2018 - 3:11 pm

Last week, the Giants seemed to begin a fire sale, trading away two key members of their defense. They sent Eli Apple to the Saints and Damon Harrison to the Lions. In return, they got mid-round draft picks. Another key player on the defense could move next...Landon Collins.

According to SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano, the Giants have received trade offers for Landon Collins. The Giants reportedly might be willing to move him if they receive a 2nd or 3rd round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Dealing Collins makes sense considering he will be a free agent after the season. There hasn’t been movement on a long-term extension. If Big Blue wanted to keep the safety, they would have to give him a lucrative long-term deal or sign him to the franchise tag for at least $12 million.

Collins wasn’t happy when the Giants dealt his buddies last week. Collins is just 24 years old and one of the team’s best young players. It’s yet to be seen what the Giants will do. The trade deadline is Tuesday.

In his 4th season with the Giants, Collins has 44 solo tackles, four passes defended, and a forced fumble.
