The Giants received relatively good news about tight end Evan Engram on Monday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Engram sprained the MCL in his right knee Sunday against the Texans and is considered week to week.

Engram was injured in the second quarter when Houston safety Kareem Jackson hit him low at the end of a 19-yard pass play, Engram's lone catch of the day.

“Got up, immediately didn’t feel right, got examined, just didn’t feel right,’’ Engram said after the game, which the Giants won 27-22.

Giants coach Pat Shurmur told reporters Monday that the report about Engram's MCL sprain was accurate and that "we're waiting to see how extensive it might be."

A first-round draft pick in 2017, Engram has 10 receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown this season. As a rookie, he had 64 catches for 722 yards and six TDs.
