Giants' Evan Engram Expected To Miss 2-4 Weeks

The Giants have played the first few games of the season short-handed on the defensive side of the ball, as Olivier Vernon and Eli Apple have both missed time due to injuries.

The two defensive starters will now be joined on the sidelines by one of the team's young offensive stars.

Tight end Evan Engram has been diagnosed with a mild MCL sprain, and the team believes he will be forced to miss 2-4 weeks, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Engram was injured in the second quarter when Houston safety Kareem Jackson hit him low at the end of a 19-yard pass play, Engram's lone catch of the day.

“Got up, immediately didn’t feel right, got examined, just didn’t feel right,’’ Engram said after the game, which the Giants won 27-22.

A first-round draft pick in 2017, Engram has 10 receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown this season.

As a rookie, he had 64 catches for 722 yards and six touchdowns.
