Big Blue Loses Jamon Brown To Falcons, Announces Deal With Eli Penny

The Giants may have allowed their best defender to walk out the door Monday, but at least the team will be hanging on to a key special teamer.

Big Blue and long snapper Zak DeOssie are close to a deal to bring the veteran back to New York, according to the New York Daily News' Pat Leonard.

DeOssie has spent his entire 12-year career with the Giants, joining Eli Manning as the only two active members of the team to be a part of the franchise's two recent Super Bowl victories.

The two-time Pro Bowl long snapper has played in 188 games, and has not missed one since 2015.

In other Giants news Tuesday:

  • New York agreed to a two-year deal with safety Antoine Bethea, reuniting the veteran with defensive coordinator James Bettcher. 
  • Guard Jamon Brown, claimed off waivers in the middle of the 2018 season, has agreed to a three-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
  • Big Blue announced the re-signing of fullback Eli Penny, who is entering his third NFL season.
