Entercom New York is once again partnering with WhyHunger for its annual Hungerthon charity drive in partnership with WhyHunger. WFAN Sports Radio 66AM 101.9FM and other Entercom stations will conduct live Hungerthon broadcasts as well as the opportunity to bid on exclusive memorabilia and experiences donated by musicians, athletes and celebrities. All proceeds will go to WhyHunger to support their critical work to end hunger and poverty.

Supporters can participate in Hungerthon in a number of ways:

  • Hungerthon On-Air: Just ahead of Thanksgiving, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, WhyHunger will host its annual Live Hungerthon Day on WFAN Sports Radio 66AM 101.9FM, WCBS880 and 1010WINS. Live broadcasts feature interviews, auctions for unique experiences, exclusive Hungerthon merchandise and more. Donations are accepted online at Hungerthon.org or via the volunteer-staffed phone room on Nov 20th (1-800-5-HUNGRY).

  • Hungerthon Auction Items and Merchandise: Hungerthon will offer exclusive auction items including autographed memorabilia, celebrity experiences, concert tickets and more via CharityBuzz starting Nov. 7. Additionally, supporters are encouraged to visit Hungerthon.org to make a donation to receive one of this year’s signature gifts which include 2018 Hungerthon tee, Bruce Springsteen “Land of Hope and Dreams” pin, John Lennon-inspired “Imagine There’s No Hunger” coaster set, Tom Morello “Hunger Is A Crime” raglan shirt and much more.

“Our mission at WhyHunger is to ensure that access to nutritious food is not only a reality, but a right for the 40 million Americans struggling to meet that basic need,” said Noreen Springstead, executive director of WhyHunger. “We’re working on meaningful and sustainable solutions to end poverty and hunger. The funds raised through Hungerthon are crucial to strengthening our efforts. Thank you to our partners at Entercom New York, ambassadors and supporters for once again coming together for this time-honored tradition.”

Since its founding over three decades ago, Hungerthon has raised millions of dollars in the fight to end hunger and invest in community-driven solutions to build social justice for all. WFAN Sports Radio 66AM 101.9FM, WCBS880 and 1010WINS have served as a Hungerthon partner for decades.
