New York (WFAN) - The Giants held on Sunday to beat the first place Chicago Bears, despite blowing a 10-point lead in the final two minutes of the game. They would go on to win in overtime, improving to 4-8 on the season.

Eli Manning joined WFAN's Mike Francesa Monday in his weekly spot to talk about the thrilling overtime win.

"We've had a chance to really win every game that we have been in so far, besides maybe the first Philly game that got out of whack," Manning said Monday. "All the others ones, we are a stop away or we're one score away with time on the clock or in the 4th quarter, we're right in the mix. Now, we're starting to have some leads in the 4th quarter and do some good things and close. We're finding ways to be resilient and keep fighting. Now we're winning some of those close games. We weren't catching many breaks. Now we're making our own breaks. We can get hot and we can hang with anybody."

Manning explained how the Odell Beckham Jr. touchdown pass to Russell Shepard went down.

"To be honest, Russell Shepard kind of improvised. He just started running around. Sure enough, Odell found him. Odell was looking to run then looked down the middle of the field and saw a wide open receiver and there you go, touchdown. Sometimes that's how great plays are formed."

Saquon Barkley continues to prove how right the Giants were in picking him second in the NFL Draft. Barkley was sensational yet again Sunday.

"He's a great kid. He's a great player," Manning said. "He wants to be good. He takes the coaching and wants to get better. He's going to keep getting better each and every week. He's improved every week this year. He's going to be a good one for a long time."

Francesa asked Manning about taking shots at teammates as Ben Roethlisberger did after there were a couple reporters that thought Manning was taking a shot at his defense in postgame comments yesterday. That's not how the Giants QB operates.

"No, I don't think taking shots at teammates...especially in the media. You can talk to them personally. All those things should be personal and direct. Trying to get a message across through the media never leads to good things."

While the Giants are 4-8 and it's been a rough year, this team has not given up.

"There's a lot of fight in this team. You got a lot of young guys. They're learning what it's like to play in the NFL. They want to prove they're worthy. I enjoy this team."
