Superman is coming to Brooklyn, at least for a little.

The Hornets official website announced on Friday that the Nets acquired Dwight Howard from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Timofey Mozgov, the draft rights to Hamidou Diallo, and a second-round pick in the 2021 draft. The Nets and Howard have already talked about a buyout of his $23.8 million deal. He then plans to sign a one-year deal with the Wizards. This plan will help both parties, as it could clear almost $8 million in cap space for the Nets.

Timofey Mozgov has played 8 seasons in the NBA, playing only one season in Brooklyn. Diallo was the 45th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The power forward/center is an NBA legend. Having been named an All-Star 8 times in his career and Defensive Player of the Year 3 times, this upcoming season will be his 15th in the league and his 6th NBA team.

Howard averaged 16.6 points per game and 12.5 rebounds in 30.4 minutes per game in Charlotte. The 6’11” star only played for the Hornets for one season, after being traded there from Atlanta.
