Handicapper extraordinaire Brad Thomas joined "Mike’s On" Friday for one last review of the Belmont Stakes. And he’s not buying into the hype about the No. 1 post being a bad position for Justify.

“I think it’s a very overrated thing, particularly for a horse like Justify. He’ll pop out, he’ll make the lead, it won’t be a problem,” Thomas told Mike Francesa.

Thomas loves the fact that Justify has been able to withstand all sorts of pressure, but he isn’t guaranteeing victory just yet.

Below are most of Thomas’ quick hits that he shared with Francesa.

Free Drop Billy has “no chance” according to Thomas. “He’s a horse who does not fight through adversity, he does not finish strongly, I do not like him.”

Thomas thought that the sloppy track at the Derby and Preakness helped Bravazo, but doesn’t expect him to run as well on the dirt at Belmont, citing footing as a difference maker.

Hofburg is “a deep closer” but Thomas thinks that trait doesn’t play well at the Belmont.

Gronkowski has never raced on dirt before, never run further than a mile, and is coming off a 69 –day layoff. “I just can’t see him winning this race,” Thomas said.

Thomas raved about Tenfold and talked about how his style is perfectly suited for Belmont. “He is a huge threat,” he told Francesa.

Also made for Belmont is Vino Rosso, according to Thomas. He called his derby race “a throw out” due to his post position and poor start, but thinks of him as “a major player” Saturday.

Noble Indy is a nice middle distance horse, but because of his common ownership with Justify, Thomas said he will likely be “strategized” out of the mix.

Blended Citizen may lack sprint speed, but has a stride that makes him the best natural athlete in the field, Thomas explained. “A slow early pace could keep him in range,” he said, but he doesn’t like his draw.
