It was more of the same for both the Mets and Yankees on Wednesday, as both emerged victorious, thus providing 'Boomer & Gio' with plenty of talking points Thursday morning.

Marcus Stroman will make his home debut at Citi Field Friday night in what is expected to be an electric atmosphere for the start of a three-game set against the Nationals.

"It's going to be like a playoff atmosphere," Gio said.

A once lifeless team and stadium will be brought back to life when the Long Island native takes the hill in his first start in orange and blue in a very important series.

"He's going to float to the mound."

The Mets will need Stroman to pitch better than he did in his debut in Pittsburgh last week, where he didn't get into the 5th inning and gave up three runs. The Mets send Stroman, Noah Synergaard and Jacob DeGrom to the mound this weekend. You can't ask for anyone better to go in a pivotal series.
