Former Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas stopped by the WFAN studios on Friday to chat with "Boomer & Gio."

The likely future Hall of Famer talked about playing for Cleveland and its ups-and-downs. He also discussed the potential of Baker Mayfield, the toughest matchup he had in his playing career and how Pat Shurmur, his former head coach, will fare with the Giants.

"He was a very talented offensive coordinator," Thomas said. "I thought he was a good head coach. He's much more tempered than a lot of the coaches that you see, and sometimes he gets criticism for not being super enthusiastic, especially with the media. But I think we've seen that how you handle the media and your excitement level doesn't really have any comparison to how you do on the field.

"I'm a believer in Pat Shurmur. I think he can do really good things."
