LISTEN: Bart Scott Calls Out Jets LB Darron Lee

August 17, 2018 - 3:45 pm

WFAN's Bart Scott had some harsh criticism about Jets linebacker Darron Lee on Friday.

"I don't want to call him soft, but he's a little plush," Scott said.

Scott said Lee "took the easy way out" during Thursday night's preseason game at Washington on a lead play when the 2016 first-round pick went one-on-one with a fullback.

"It's just like having ... two trains on the track, and you're running directly at each other, and you're saying, 'Who's going to flinch first?'" said Scott, a former linebacker for the Jets and Ravens. "And even if you're going to flinch, you can't make it so obvious. Darron Lee turned it down. And when I say he turned it down, we call it taking the easy way out, like water. See, water will go wherever it needs to go, wherever the road is leaning it will go.

"It's one thing to not be able to execute; it's another thing for me to have to question your heart, and that's where we're at with Darron Lee right now," Scott added. "I'm questioning his willingness to play the position."
