Barr was the ninth overall pick in the 2014 draft by the Vikings. In five seasons in Minnesota, he had 338 tackles, 13 1/2 sacks, one interception and four fumble recoveries.
In 13 games last season, Barr had 55 tackles and three sacks.

Meanwhile, despite losing out on Barr, the Jets did reach a five-year, $85 million agreement with linebacker C.J. Mosley, who spent the last five years with the Ravens.
Monday was the first day of the league's legal tampering period. Contracts cannot be signed until Wednesday. The Jets entered free agency with more than $82 million available under the salary cap.
