When it rains, it pours.

After trading Eli Apple and Damon Harrison early in the week, the Giants' defense was already expecting to play short-handed against the Redskins Sunday.

Things will be even tougher now for Big Blue, as the team ruled starting middle linebacker Alec Ogletree (hamstring) out for the team's Week 8 NFC East matchup.

Ogletree has enjoyed a solid 2018 campaign, picking up 48 combined tackles and an interception in seven games.

The Giants are likely to start B.J. Goodson in place of the veteran, while Tae Davis and Nate Stupar are also expected to see more playing time.

Wide receiver Jawill David (concussion) was also ruled out for Week 8, while guard Patrick Omameh (knee) and wide receiver Russell Shepard (neck) have both been removed from the injury report.
