Aaron Boone and the Yankees enter the second half of the season in tremendous shape. They are 56-31 and have a 6.5 game lead on the Rays in the AL East.

Despite all the injuries in the first half, the team found a way to go 25 games over .500 and they could get even better in the second half with more guys potentially returning.

"With all we have been here through in the first half, to be where we are, we have put ourselves in a really good position to have a special season," the Yankees manager told WFAN's Mike Francesa on Thursday. "That's all it is to this point, but we have put ourselves in a good position and excited to get going starting tomorrow on hopefully continuing this."

The team will be getting reinforcements very soon.

"Voit will be sometime in the next couple of days. Probably won't be activated tomorrow. Might have him do one rehab game. We'll talk through that over here this evening and into the morning. He'll likely be back at some point this weekend or certainly first of next week. As far as Dellin Betances and Sevy, hopefully they're getting to the point this weekend where they might start their throwing program, getting ramped up. They're both doing well and getting to that point where they'll be ready to start throwing and then obviously the progression from there."
